Founded in 2002, Pennsylvania’s Preferred Health Networks (PPHN) is a statewide
affiliation of Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO). These partners PPOs have joined together under
a single logo to offer a comprehensive, seamless network of physicians, hospitals and ancillary providers.
The first of its kind, PPHN offers payors a single contract, competitive physician fee schedules, and
preferred hospital pricing, resulting in a cost competitive health insurance plan available in over
47 counties across the Commonwealth. Through our cooperative arrangement, PPHN is able to offer this
comprehensive network encompassing- Berkshire Health Partners, Central Susquehanna Health Care Providers,
PrimeSource Health Network, Preferred Health Care, Preferred Healthcare System, South Central preferred,
Vantage PPO and Tyoga Carenet.
PPHN focuses on specific geographic regions providing local customer service, while offering statewide
access to enrollees. Each of the 16,000 physicians has been credentialed by their local network and
must comply with strict criteria before they are accepted as participating providers.
